One year ago on 4th June 2025, Claire Macdonald wandered the entire Hollywood Walk of Fame from morning to night.
Offering a new perspective on this renowned street, she turns her lens not to the famous etched stars but to the pavement’s nameless ones, and to the unscripted life unfolding around them in real time. She captures photographs of people - posers, passers-by, performers, workers - as well as street food stalls, storefronts and their merchandise, signs, rough edges, and fragments of the boulevard.
The blank stars become visual pauses, drawing attention not to who is named, but to who is there in that moment. They reflect the ephemerality of life and fleeting encounters as they hover free, waiting to be claimed and carved in concrete.
They are stars for everyone, and no one.
